It is rare to find a boys-only volleyball club, that is why we get so many accidental calls asking about program options for girls volleyball.
Seriously, we get 5-7 calls and emails a week inquiring about girls clinics, tryouts, and other programs (just ask coach Mason who mans the Bay to Bay phone 😆). Normally what we do is try to give a few recommendations in the Bay Area and then send people on their way to do their own research.
In this blog post we decided to formalize those recommendations and put some key information about the girls clubs in our area that have a history of providing high quality training and athlete development.
Top Girls Clubs in the San Jose Area
Vision Volleyball Club: Located in Los Gatos and San Jose Vision has been a mainstay in the Bay Area girls club volleyball scene since 1997. Their Club Director Joe Ripp is one of the best in the business and they have a stable of high quality coaches (including multiple with current or past NCAA experience). They have an extensive Summer Camp program along with multiple teams at all age levels.
Stingray Volleyball Club: Currently training out of the Silver Creek Sportsplex in South San Jose (where Bay to Bay also utilizes space) Stingray has been around since 2003 and has a caring and positive group of coaches. Similar to Bay to Bay, Stingray has traditionally utilized a number of different training facilities throughout the South Bay Area. They also run quality beach volleyball club training at West Valley College.
Top Girls Club in the Fremont Area
City Beach Volleyball Club: Another long time mainstay in the South Bay girls volleyball scene is City Beach Volleyball Club. They recently moved their club to a beautiful new training location in Fremont which allows them to provide a ton of awesome secondary services to their athletes and families (restaurant, strength & conditioning, golf simulators).
Top Girls Club on the San Francisco Peninsula
Encore Volleyball Club: One of our favorite girls clubs in the area, Encore's leadership team is top notch and has shown their dedication to their student athletes. They have made continual improvements to their 8-court facility, brought in high level coaches like Stanford's Denise Corlett, and shown an unwavering dedication to their mission to serve the greater Peninsula community.
Rage Westside: A relatively new club in the Bay Area scene, Rage Westside has a number of quality coaches from ages 18 down to 13 years old. Rage Westside is based in Belmont and the club practices out of Notre Dame de Namur and competes in the standard National level calendar of events throughout the Northern California area and beyond.
Top Girls Club in the North Bay Area
Absolute Volleyball Club: Located in Marin County, Absolute has been producing quality teams at each age group for over 10 years. They have a dedicated facility in San Rafael and have a variety of programs for girls ages 8 to 18 years old including travel teams, summer camps, and clinics.
