May 1st Update

With the Shelter In Place order extended to May 31st, all Bay to Bay programming for this month (open gyms, team add-on day, foundation practices) have been postponed until further notice. Bay to Bay continues to update our sanitization protocols, educate staff, and procure needed equipment for the time when these protective measures are lifted and youth recreation is able to resume.

April 6th Update

In accordance with the extended Shelter In Place order all Bay to Bay programming has been cancelled until at least May 4th. For athletes that were registered in Spring Beach Club or Strength & Conditioning your account will receive a credit for the remaining sessions or you may request a refund using this form.

We are providing the following electronic resources for free to all of our athletes:

  • Wednesdays at 3:15 pm: Bay to Bay Book Club will overview influential books on leadership and personal development. First up, Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance. The Zoom link is available for all active members, check your email with the subject line "Bay Book Club".

  • Fridays at 3:15 pm: #FilmFriday we will break down game footage from Bay to Bay teams, college matches, and even professional leagues to demonstrate what to look for when watching yourself, when scouting your opponent, and when trying to learn from the best! The Zoom link is available for all active members, check your email with the subject line "Film Friday".

March 16th Update

In communicating with our partners at The Harker School, West Valley College, and USA Volleyball we will be postponing all indoor and beach volleyball practices and clinics as well as Strength & Conditioning programming until at least the end of March in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. We will evaluate resuming sessions during the first week of April.

  • If you have registered for a clinic during this time frame, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method.

  • For Beach Club and Strength & Conditioning our plan is to add additional training dates onto the end of the season to accommodate the postponed sessions.

In the meantime, we all have a responsibility to practice social distancing and self-quarantine when appropriate (i.e. when you are sick or may have been exposed to someone who is sick). While our young athletes may not be effected by the virus as other segments of the population, they can still most definitely be carriers of the virus. We urge all of our athletes to practice social distancing for the sake of all of our grandmas, grandpas, and parents who have weakened immune systems.

We want all of our athletes to know that we are still here to be a resource and encourage some unique at-home training sessions through our social media channels. In fact, we will be putting together daily contests to encourage at-home training and exercise with a wide variety of prizes for winners. We will be tracking scores throughout the course of the next two weeks and will be awarding a grand prizes to the three athletes with the highest total scores as well as the highest scoring team (total score of all players on the team).

Lastly, for all of our current Bay to Bay team members we will be offering up our supply of 40 grass volleyball nets to be borrowed at no cost to be set up at your home. This will allow you to get out and play (either on your own or with your family) even during this time when social distancing is so important. We are in unprecedented times, but we can continue to use the sport we love to bring us all together (electronically 🤗).

March 12th Update

Simply out of an abundance of caution we have decided to cancel our programming for the March 14-15th weekend (youth clinics, small group sessions, strength & conditioning, and indoor/beach practices). Like all of you, we will continue to monitor the situation and will make decisions for future programming on a weekly basis. We will keep our website updated with all Bay to Bay specific developments here.

  • If you registered for a Youth Clinic or Small Group session you can reschedule into any of our future sessions or you may request a refund using the following form: March 14th Account Credit.

  • For our Beach Club practices and Strength & Conditioning sessions we will be adding an additional practice date in May to make up for the cancellation. This information will be added to the program calendars and sent via email once confirmed.

March 10th Update

Like many of you, we at Bay to Bay are actively monitoring what the Santa Clara County Office of Education, the Country of Santa Clara Public Health Department, and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention for their recommendations regarding best practices for dealing with COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Currently, gatherings of over 1,000 people have been recommended to be cancelled in our county. Since our clinics and practices fall well below this threshold we will continue to operate. Every family has to make the decision that is right for them regarding whether or not to attend public events such as volleyball practices or clinics. Our staff will do everything in our power to keep our players, coaches, and parents safe while practicing during what could be a protracted public health issue. As such, any player that is currently registered in a clinic that would prefer not to attend at this time may credit their registration to a later session at no penalty or receive a refund.

Our young athletes benefit from extracurricular activities/play and we will continue to make our practices available to our players who choose to come. We are not public health officials or medical experts, but we will continue to encourage the following amongst all our players, coaches, and parents:

  • Stay home when feeling sick or showing signs of sickness (coughing, sneezing, fever, etc.)

  • Providing players with ample opportunities to wash their hands and sanitize during sessions

  • Disinfecting our equipment at the end of each session

  • Removing cancellation penalties and allowing sessions to be applied to clinics at a later date

Since this situation can change rapidly, we will continue to monitor and take direction from the authorities in our area. If things change we will send out an email to all of our registered participants as well as update this page.
